Our Favorite Track
“First Day” is a New Age solo piano composition that is about overcoming adversity, fresh starts, and new beginnings. With a steady rhythmic pulse, the melody extends across the keyboard in a relaxed manner with Ögmundson balanced touch on the piano. The sound he extracts from the piano is equal parts, classical, church, and New Age. The composition’s flow is inspiring, with the B section melody being a beautiful answer to the A section melody. The B section builds through a chord progression that seems to turn and twist most surprisingly. The harmony and melody work together to paint a sonic image of overcoming adversity.
In Conclusion
“First Day” eloquently tells of overcoming and the sound of hope exude from the ambient composition. Flowing tones of melodic colors and light fill the air as Ögmundson takes us on a feel-good journey. His music is happy, calm, serene, and very peaceful. Ögmundson’s piano playing is beautiful and from his heart. “First Day” will add much to your musical listening moments and be the moment of serenity in a crazy world.
