About the Album

Launched in March 2020, SOLO PIANO GROUP is a Northern California based project dedicated to presenting relaxing recordings by world-renowned pianists and composers from across the globe. SOLO PIANO GROUP has released 2 full-length albums, Mellow Moods and Reflect N Chill and many digital singles. “Music has always been a huge part of my life whether it was Hip-Hop, R&B, gospel or jazz,” says Gregory. “I’ve been thinking about this music for quite some time, and with all that is going on in the world today, I thought it was the perfect time to share it.” SOLO PIANO GROUP pulls together pianists to create original music, purposefully composed to allow people to “relax, meditate, take a deep breath and live in the moment as opposed to looking at the past and worrying about the future.” Reflect N Chill is the latest album and features ten tracks.

Our Favorite Tracks

“Sunrise” is a joyous composition written and performed by Glen Pearson. The open piano voicings and flowing melodies are harmoniousGlenPearson-274x274 and relaxing. Pearson’s performance has dynamics and a gentle ebb and flow of the tempo. The flow of the theme is peaceful, and the recording captures the sounds of the piano beautifully. This is a beautiful piano selection to welcome the new day with.

“Sunset” ends the album calmly and reflectively with a composition and performance by Janice Maxie Reid. The moving parts work together to form a relaxing pulse that is beautiful. Reid’s piano playing is very balanced. The structure of the song is simple but still has many textures and changes in harmony to intrigue.

In Conclusion

Reflect N Chill is a collection of talented pianists and composers. The music is calming while still having a variety of textures. SOLO PIANO GROUP does achieve the goal of creating music that inspires the listener to relax, meditate, take a breath, and be in the moment.
